# Waterbending

Water is the element of change. The fighting style of a Waterbender is largely fluid and graceful, acting in total harmony with the environment. Waterbending deals with the flow of energy; practitioners let their defense become their offense, turning their opponents' own strength against them. Even when Waterbenders take an aggressive stance, their movements flow seamlessly from one to the next.

**Mastery of the Tides**

Waterbenders are most powerful when they are near their element. They can manipulate water from lakes, oceans, and even ice to freeze enemies in place or launch devastating waves. Because their power is drawn from the environment, a Waterbender's effectiveness depends heavily on their surroundings.

**The Flow of Combat**

* Fluidity: Waterbenders excel at redirecting attacks and using the momentum of their enemies to their advantage.
* Versatility: They have access to diverse techniques, ranging from powerful ice strikes to the rare ability to heal wounds using the restorative properties of water.

**Getting Started**

To use your abilities, you must bind them to a slot on your hotbar using the command: `/b bind [skill]` Detailed instructions for each ability can be found below.

#### Mobility and Specialization

A Waterbender specializes in maneuverability within and around water, feeling truly at home in the depths. They possess a balanced mix of defensive and offensive capabilities. Their moveset opens up opportunities in aquatic environments that remain closed to other disciplines.

**Advanced Techniques**

More experienced Waterbenders can master the art of manipulating the water within another living being—this is known as Bloodbending. This forbidden and powerful technique allows the bender to seize control of an opponent's movements entirely.

## Passives

**FastSwim**

This passive ability allows Waterbenders to swim through the water with much greater speed and agility than normal players, making them masters of aquatic travel.

**HydroSink**

Waterbenders are in such harmony with their element that they can land safely on any bendable surface (such as water, ice, or snow). This negates all fall damage when landing on these materials.

## Active abilities

**WaterManipulation**

The fundamental ability of waterbending.

* How to use: Tap Sneak (Shift) on a water source to select it, then Left-Click in a direction.
* Effect: Launches a blast of water that deals damage and knockback. You can also redirect the blast mid-air by Left-Clicking again.

**Bloodbending**

A dark and dangerous technique that controls the fluid within an enemy's body.

* How to use: Hold Sneak while looking at an entity to seize control.
* Effect: The entity's body will follow your movements. Left-Click to launch the entity in the direction you are looking.
* Note: Only usable during a Full Moon.

**BloodPuppet**

An elite level of bloodbending that turns enemies into your own soldiers.

* How to use: Hold Sneak on a target to control them. Left-Click to force the controlled entity to attack your target.
* Note: Only usable during a Full Moon.

**Drain**

Inspired by Hama, this allows you to extract water from the environment.

* How to use: Hold Sneak near plants or during rain.
* Effect: Fills empty bottles or buckets in your inventory. If you have no containers, it allows you to fire mini-blasts of water at targets instead.

**FrostBreath**

Freeze your very breath to stop enemies in their tracks.

* How to use: Hold Sneak (Shift).
* Effect: Slows down enemies and can freeze water into ice or create snow on the ground.

**HealingWaters**

Channel the restorative properties of water to mend wounds.

* How to use: Stand in water or hold a water bucket/bottle. Hold Sneak.
* Effect: Automatically heals you. If you target another player while sneaking, you will heal them instead.

**IceClaws**

Pull water from the air to form sharp frozen claws on your fingertips.

* How to use: Hold Sneak to charge.

**WakeFishing**

Use your bending to lure fish to the surface.

* How to use: Hold Sneak while looking at a water block.
* Effect: After a short time, fish will swim toward you, allowing for easy gathering without a rod.
